Trail Overview

This is an out-and-back trail that offers a little bit of everything from dispersed camping, to amazing views, to a few technical spots. In just a short 5 miles you will gain almost 3,000 ft of elevation and once to the top you will have a great view of the famous Cinnamon Mountain and Engineer Mountain. This seems to be a much less traveled trail in comparison to the many popular trails around, but is still a great trail and well worth the trip.

Difficulty

About a half mile into the trail you will come across the most difficult obstacle that is rocky and steep. The majority of this trail is a steep incline, gaining 3,000ft of elevation in just 5 miles. There are a few narrow sections on a cliff face and rocks that have the potential of banging skids/differentials for some of the lower clearance rigs.

Tried to make it up with Ram 3500 and 10.6 Bigfoot camper. Transmission overheated halfway up and turned around. Pretty steep but accessible in non camper truck/jeep setup.

Trail/Road was just cleaned up via a dozer ensuring a good ride. The road does some serious climbs to the top with some great views along the way. This fall with all the aspens it will be beautiful. The road is so good currently there was a Subaru parked just below the summit. There were a couple rock sections that after some strong rains or heavy traffic it could deteriorate quickly.
