Trail Overview

Lilly Pond Road starts in a very congested area of campsites, then traverses private property before reentering the national forest. The trail is easy with a few rutted sections and tight switchbacks as you work your way higher up to panoramic views of the Twin Lakes and Mount Elbert Forebay. The trail ends abruptly at an obvious terrain break: a massive beaver dam holding back the pond from creating a gulley. While there is no signage indicating this is the end of the trail, most recent MVUM data clearly shows its terminus. This trail is open seasonally from 05/16 to 11/30.
