Trail Overview

This spur road is a relatively short out-and-back route that offers a surprisingly smooth drive considering how remote this area is. The road has a few shallow ruts and minor uneven sections, but overall, it is an easy and enjoyable route when conditions are dry. Much of the drive winds through tall pine forest, with occasional burned areas and open meadows that create excellent views and a feeling of being deep in the backcountry. Wildlife is abundant in this area, and it is possible to spot foxes, moose, elk, deer, and other mountain wildlife along the way, so keep your eyes open as you travel. The road ends at a closed gate, but the route can be continued on foot or by another non-motorized vehicle beyond the gate.
