Trail Overview
This is a short but exceptionally scenic route that offers an easy and enjoyable drive through a beautiful mix of forest and open terrain. In dry conditions, there is very little here that should challenge most drivers, with only a few mud holes and some shallow ruts along the way, and you likely will not need to engage 4WD. Just a few hundred yards into the route, watch for a small lake tucked off to the left, where you will also find a lakeside camping area. The route continues through tall pine and aspen trees, interspersed with open sections containing downed timber, likely remnants of an older burn or previous tree damage. At the end of this short trip, you will reach an area where motorized travel ends and non-motorized trails continue. From here, you can park your vehicle and explore the surrounding area on foot, making this a great quick outing for anyone looking for a scenic drive with an opportunity to hike and enjoy the forest.
