Trail Overview
This short one-mile spur route branches off FS Road 414 and provides a pleasant drive through a quiet section of forest. Beginning with a gentle climb over soft, sandy terrain, the trail winds through a stand of tall pine trees before reaching a large, secluded dispersed campsite tucked away from the main road. Portions of the surrounding landscape show evidence of past wildfire activity, creating a unique mix of recovering forest and open views. The route is easy to navigate in dry conditions and makes an excellent destination for those seeking a peaceful campsite or a quick side adventure. Wildlife is abundant throughout the area, and encounters with deer, moose, and black bears are always a possibility.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail with few obstacles, and under normal dry conditions, most drivers will likely never need to engage 4WD. Any vehicle with reasonable ground clearance should be able to reach the end of the route without difficulty, making it an excellent option for high-clearance SUVs and stock 4WD vehicles.
