Open all the way to the top, all downed trees are removed trail was clear of all snow too.

Open and a beautiful drive.

Six or so trees fallen across the trail before the tee for 778.2a. (just after the out cropping where photos were taken. A couple tiny patches of mostly melted snore up to that point. Started seeing a few flurries of snow on the way down.

Very rocky at the beginning portion, had a few scrapes going up and down on a stock 4runner but it was very doable

Very Rock ! Need experience to do this trail ! But very fun only bad thing is that you go back the same way you go up!

It’s pretty rocky at the start and will shake you up quite a bit. But it does smooth out about half way up. It’s very narrow in many spots.

This is a rough rocky climb in the woods that takes you to the trailhead for mountain peaks overlooking Silver Plume. There are a couple neat mines and ruins at the top but its a rather unscenic drive in the woods all the way up to the parking at the trailhead. Hard to recommend this one at all, unless you are specifically looking for a nice hike and a challenge for stock vehicles.

did not run into anyone else on the trail the Sunday night I did it. Not a very fun or scenic trail though. the Aspen trees at the beginning were nice then those disappeared and it turns into a large loose rock for what seemed like miles. Leading to a pretty anticlimactic peak.

wasn't alot of places to park a truck and trailer but I made do. Great views for sure. part of the road had the cool unimog tractor, plus a connex and a bulldozer

Made it about 3/4 of the way to the top. A few hundred yards after the lookout where the photos are from there is deep snow. Even with front and rear lockers we got stuck twice and had to back up for 1/4 mile. Cool trail though, the beginning is aggressive with a few decent obstacles. I’ll give it a try again in a few weeks once the snow melts.

Snow was way too deep for me in an f-150. Had to back up for about a half mile to turn around I wouldn’t recommend the trail right now

I'm probably late to discover this but the only way you used to be able to get above the tree line is now closed thanks to the lovely forest service and I'm sure it'll never open back up again. This portion of the trail was open earlier this year before the snow completely melted above the tree line.

Great trail. Tight in a full size truck.

loose and rocky, verry tight with trees and small boulders either side, much easier to hit skid plates on the way down. would recommend at minimum 31s and a aftermarket skids for a tacoma. 4 low was required in some spots, you will slide sideways and br off camber most of the trail.
