Trail Overview

Coyote Cutoff is very similar to Coyote Ridge, but slightly harder because of tighter switchbacks and a rockier surface. Similar to most of the trails in the area, it's a mix of dirt single track through sagebrush, with loose rocks and tight twisty turns. There are lots of big boulders lining the trail that you have to make sure not to hit your handlebars on. This trail has a couple of small rock steps that are of moderate difficulty. It goes along the side of a mesa, and follows a series of tight switchbacks up to the top of the mesa. There's a faster straight section through sagebrush near the end. This trail should be ridden in combination with the Coyote Ridge Trail and can be made into a fun day loop with the rest of the trails in the Dry Creek Recreation Area.
