Trail Overview

This is a 1.2-mile-long easy dirt bike trail in the Sheep Mountain trail system near Fairplay, Colorado. It starts and ends off of Forest Road 178, and creates a fun loop with Louie's Loop and Almgren Trail, ideal for newer riders. It's mostly an easy single track, with a smooth dirt surface with small embedded rocks, through a pine forest, lightly weaving through the lodgepole pine and ponderosa. It's pretty flowy and smooth, with a lot of sections that are more open - the trees are widely spaced, and visibility opens up, making it even easier. There are a few shelfier narrow sections as it crosses the hillsides, but overall it remains very approachable for less experienced riders. The trail is well-marked and easy to follow. The north end connects to a small segment of easy singletrack (689A) that takes you back to Almgren Trail.
