Trail Overview

This 2-mile point-to-point trail starts on 120 Cutoff (FS 1S06) and ends on Bald Mountain Road, climbing 112 feet and dropping 59 feet. The sand and pumice surface is one vehicle wide, running through the forest with views filtering through. This short section is part of the larger Crater Loop, providing a good connector route through the area for exploring multiple trails in the network. You can see Crater Mountain through the trees as you drive along this route, offering glimpses of the distinctive volcanic peak that gives the loop its name and character.
