Trail Overview

This beautiful route picks up right where the regular county road maintenance ends, taking you deeper into the dense, shaded woods. As you journey along this path, you will find a very smooth, well-graded gravel surface that seamlessly transitions into sections of soft, packed dirt. The entire drive is heavily forested with towering pine trees, providing a wonderful canopy of dappled sunlight and ensuring there is absolutely no steep exposure or intimidating drop-offs to worry about. The road winds gently up the hillside, bordered by small earthen berms and natural forest debris, and remains wide enough to comfortably maneuver. As you reach the conclusion of the trail, the trees open up into a wide, spacious clearing. While there are no sweeping mountain views from this spot, it serves as a fantastic, flat area for dispersed camping or simply taking a peaceful break before enjoying the cruise back down.

Difficulty

Earning a very gentle difficulty rating of 2 out of 10, this trail is wonderfully relaxing and highly accessible. You will not encounter any loose rocks, steep technical climbs, or significant hazards that make the drive challenging. The only minor obstacles to be aware of are a few shallow, weathered ruts etched into the smooth dirt surface. To navigate these comfortably and protect your undercarriage, simply maintain a calm, steady pace and safely straddle the shallow trenches by keeping your tires securely positioned on the high, flat sections of the road. It is a stress-free, deeply enjoyable drive through the woods.
