Trail Overview
This 3-mile point-to-point trail acts as a scenic connector between Highway 10 and the Three Sisters Trail within the Klamath National Forest. The eastern portion of the route runs directly through the footprint of the 2021 Antelope Forest Fire. While most of the damaged timber has been cleared, small stands of remaining trees serve as a poignant reminder of the event, and the area is currently dominated by vibrant new-growth sagebrush and seasonal wildflowers. The route is dotted with expansive, open meadows—the result of post-fire clearing—which offer potential for future dispersed camping. A notable feature along the route is the "Rainbow Well," a working game well that serves as a focal point for local wildlife, particularly deer, which are frequently spotted in the area.
Difficulty
This is an easy, rating 1 trail, making it highly accessible for most vehicles. The surface consists of loose dirt with scattered small rocks, and the track is consistently one vehicle wide. There are no major technical obstacles, ruts, or steep grades to manage. It is a straightforward, relaxing drive, though travelers should remain observant of the transition zones between the meadows and the remaining forest stands.
