Trail Overview

This trail is a nice little side venture just outside of Groveland that goes into the old burn area and has a few really great camping spots. There are some great spots to camp near the river as well as some other trails in the area to explore. This makes for a great pit stop for some Yosemite or Hetch Hetchy Adventures!

Difficulty

The beginning of the trail is a gravel road but there is a water crossing as well as some larger rocks and ruts in the trail. 4x4 is recommended, or at least some higher clearance.

Started from 120 and took the trail north. It's in pretty good shape and the river crossing was easy for my stock Subaru. If you have less than 8-9 inches of ground clearance, like me, keep an eye on the rock right after the crossing.

A couple was asking if this was a hipcamp. I looked it up and sure enough someone is claiming to own it and charging folks to camp here. I’m not sure if hipcamp or onX is wrong.

Really easy trail, did it in my f-150. There are some pretty secluded places to camp on the river. I went on a Saturday night and saw only one other person. Awesome place to camp while visiting Yosemite which we did.

washboard doesnt come until you officially move on to the dirt road then once you get to the water crossing its only about 2ft or less when i had gone it was about 1.5ft deep but i was able to do it with no beadlocks or any lift kit on my truck aired down just for the rocks on trail once you come across the river youll notice there is a big nice 2ft rock on the left side of the trail once you cross the river you should have no trouble with it i just put my tires on it and used it as a high point instead of trying to go around it and other than that the trail is good to go lots of ruts and potholes to watch for so go slow
