Trail Overview
This trail offers a scenic yet narrow off-road experience winding through burn-scarred forest recovering with new growth. Starting at a gated entrance with signage and a barbed-wire fence on one side, the trail begins easily but quickly transitions into rugged, rocky terrain. You'll encounter uneven grades, steep pitches, and cliffside sections requiring careful navigation. Gravel patches and areas with storm damage further contribute to the moderate technical challenge. Shortly after starting, two small fire pits can be found on the northwest side before reaching a hiking trailhead. At the first fork, stay right to remain on 2N84; turning left leads to a Yellow Post campsite. Further in, keep left at the 3N84 and 2N84B junction to stay on Little Bear Spring. Vegetation encroaches in places, with thick thorn brush posing a risk for pinstriping--vehicle protection or clearing may be needed. Though narrow and less maintained than neighboring routes, the trail rewards with solitude and views of regrowing wilderness.

This trail is rated moderate due to its narrow width, off-camber sections, and a combination of rocky terrain and steep grades. Weather erosion has left portions of the route uneven and rutted, with occasional gravel areas and cliffside exposure requiring precise vehicle placement. Brush encroachment can be significant, increasing the risk of body damage without trimming. While not overly technical, the route demands attentive driving and a capable high-clearance 4x4 to navigate safely.
