Trail Overview

Delamar Mountain - 3N12 is a short, beautiful trail that provides access to Holcomb Valley and its extensive network of trails. The trail features tree coverage throughout its length, with opportunities for dispersed camping and yellow post sites along the way. At one point, the trail opens up to reveal a stunning view of a quarry nestled in the mountains across the valley. Toward the end, it transitions into the vast, open plain of Holcomb Valley, where you can continue your journey by turning left or right onto 3N16.

Difficulty

3N12 is an easy trail that can be accessed by most vehicles, including 2WD and 4WD, as long as they have some ground clearance. For the most part, it's a smooth dirt road with small dips and rocks scattered along the way. Weather conditions can increase the difficulty, so the trail is best and safest to explore during dry seasons, especially if your vehicle is not equipped for harsher conditions like mud or snow.

Not sure why this is a 2-3 if Holcomb and Burns are a 4. A few rutted areas with some off camber spots. Fun drive! Arguable should be a 4 though

Trail was good for the most part. Some of the cutouts were a little tough. Trail had some washed out areas but my stock jeep had no issue going through them. Awesome views, but way colder than we planned for (that’s on us). Played a lot of card games on our Flex Deck Playing Cards. All being said, we’ll definitely be back.

Very Icey at the 3N12E split. I turned around at the point where there was another group further that had an accident from sliding on the ice. Be cautious.

We used this trail to get to Holcomb Valley from Hanna Flat Campground. 5 cars in the group, 3 of which were 2wd. smooth ride but it is narrow most of the way up, was a bit busier than usual but not bad.

Snowy today! It was great. Kept my Jeep in 4WD just to be sure as I was solo. Beautiful scenery and very easy trail. Ran into another Gladiator. Few water puddles nothing crazy. Will be coming back!
