Trail Overview

This trail is steep, overgrown, and narrow. Typically home to lots of poison oak and fallen trees but the reward at the end is totally worth it! Keltz Mine road takes you down to the South Fork Stanislaus River and ends at a camping area. There are fish and swimming holes and slippery rocks so beware. In the winter months, this road is muddy and has large rocks, it is also subject to landslides so wide vehicles beware.

Last 200’ of trail before the river is slippery and very rocky. No sun likely hits that area during winter months. Fun trail though and a cool spot at the bottom.

Very dusty right now at start of trail, close to start of the main trail down to the river there is a downed tree. Limited room with the tree down and will pop your tires if you aren’t careful. Popped one of mine and another person had apparently popped theirs. After that there are a Few spots with trees hanging over the road, so there is limited height in some parts, my stock 98’ Tahoe had a little room above the roof passing under one tree hanging over the road. Over all trail was mostly clean

They just found a body, a man who has been missing since late March. Actually, bones, clothing and tech. equipment out here and no one whi drove around the tree saw a thing back here? Might want to stay outta here for awhile.

There’s a downed tree but a little past that on the left there’s a steep passage down that can bypass the tree. I made it without issue but could be kinda scary for new drivers

Very narrow and overgrown. Large tree limb is obstructing the trail about 3/4 through. You may be able to make it over the limb if you want to risk damage.
