Trail Overview

This is a beautiful trail that leads you to the highest point within the little set of trails in this area. It also connects at the top with the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Be careful when you reach the top because it is possible for you to find hikers on the PCT at most times of the year. The road is fairly easy with some great views at the top. You can see the whole valley below. It isn't recommended after heavy snow and very cold weather as ice could make the trail hazardous. It is a fun trail to do as snow is melting as you get some snow and some mud all in one. If snow is present 4WD is a necessity. Street legal vehicles only.

Difficulty

The trail is fairly easy with some ruts due to rain and snow run off. The ledge is fairly steep, so a mistake could be costly, but the road is easy.

I left a full review on the “slade canyon” section next to this. But i would rate this as exceedingly easy.

Very easy trail with shelve road sections that are a bit eroded. The end of Gobblers Knob has a wide turn around at the junction of the PCT. Nice place to have lunch and do a some hiking on PCT. PS: It sadly has a lot of trash there so we picked up what we found.

Trail was pretty dry, some shaded areas still had snow & ice. Pretty calm, not many others on the trail today. Stopped at the fork for lunch then headed back to where we started on the 138.

Some snow as you increase your elevation. I can see this getting muddy after a good rain. One lane road with very few turn outs or spots to pass. Easy but scratches the itch if you need

first time on this trail really liked it . There is a small section that looks narrow and sketchy due to some landslide from the last rain. otherwise really nice ride .

Very scenic and easy trail. Has a couple yellow post sites at the top that nobody usually goes to. Stayed there for a couple nights and didn’t see a single person on the trail besides me and my friends
