Trail Overview
Serving as the main backcountry route through the Corral Hollow area, Forest Service Road 7N11 is a scenic mountain connector in Stanislaus National Forest. The trail winds through a variety of landscapes, passing thick stands of pine and fir, leafy aspen groves, and wide grassy meadows complete with a rustic historic cabin. Drivers use this central corridor for scenic day trips, dispersed camping, and accessing popular spur trails like Flagpole Point and nearby off-road routes. The single-lane roadbed is made of packed dirt, crushed rock, and loose gravel. While much of the route is wide and easygoing, you will encounter steady elevation changes, loose rocky climbs, mild erosion ruts, and active timber management areas with stacked log decks along the shoulder.

Rated a 3, this road is manageable for most high-clearance vehicles but features bumpy stretches with loose stones and shallow dirt ruts. Drivers should maintain a steady, gentle throttle on the rocky uphills to avoid spinning tires on shifting gravel. Taking corners slowly and picking a clean line around scattered rocks will ensure a smooth ride and prevent underbody contact.
