Trail Overview

This short, scenic trail starts with a somewhat bumpy surface that can become slippery and muddy after rain, with deeper mud possible in wet conditions. The route soon opens into broad plains before reaching an area where visitors can unload boats, kayaks, and other watercraft for access to the lake. A small alternate spur also lets you pull over to unload your gear. The area appears popular with hunters, so watch for other visitors and local traffic. Pelicans can also be seen nearby, adding to this lakeside destination’s appeal. Whether you’re bringing a kayak out for a paddle, heading out to fish, or visiting during hunting season, you can enjoy the area in several ways. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid California ATV Operating Permit sticker.
