This 2.49-mile point-to-point trail climbs 150 feet and drops over 200 feet from Crooked Meadow Road West to Pilot Springs. The sand and pumice surface is 1.5 vehicles wide, winding back and forth through a pine forest with signs of a previous forest fire scattered throughout the landscape. The trail drives into a small aspen grove, which gives you beautiful orange and yellow foliage in the fall, making it a particularly scenic spot during the autumn months. Be aware of seasonal fire restrictions in this area as you explore the route and surrounding trails.
