FS 1S160

This 3-mile point-to-point trail climbs over 500 feet from Sage Hen Meadows Road to FS 1555. The sand and pumice surface is 1 to 1.5 vehicles wide and seasonally graded, so be aware of oncoming traffic and move over to let each other pass. Sage Hen Meadows Campground is off this trail, providing convenient camping access. At mile 0.75, the trail opens up to a meadow with views of Sage Hen Peak in the distance. Fall time brings beautiful, colorful foliage throughout the area. The trail runs along a shelf trail at times, with pine needles scattered throughout the route.
