Trail Overview

This 1.62-mile out-and-back spur trail off FS 1S160 climbs over 350 feet with no other access. The seldom-used trail has sagebrush growing in the middle, so low-clearance vehicles may have issues. It takes you through a pine forest and an aspen grove where fall colors are amazing. The forest is not dense, with open meadows scattered throughout. The trail cuts across Sage Hen Meadow (FS 1S60) with Eastern Sierras popping through the trees. Pine needles blanket the ground, and the trail gets narrow at some spots among trees. Watch for wildlife like mule deer and hawks. You can go in either direction from the same start.
