Trail Overview

FS 19EV135 branches off the 19E road system in the Groveland Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest, functioning as a short out-and-back spur rather than a through-connector, since it dead-ends at a single dispersed campsite. The surrounding forest is still recovering from the 2013 Rim Fire, and standing dead snags rise above the returning brush and young pines along much of the route, a quiet reminder of the burn even as green growth fills back in underneath. The surface is a loose, sun-baked dirt track, narrow and lightly used, with minor to moderate ruts and slight overgrowth crowding the edges in a few spots. There are no technical obstacles of note along the way, keeping the drive an easy, low-stress cruise from start to finish. The spur exists for one purpose: reaching the secluded, view-filled campsite tucked at its end, which offers privacy and scenery that make the short drive worthwhile.

Difficulty

FS 19EV135 rates a 2, about as mild as a rated trail gets. The dirt surface carries only minor to moderate ruts, none deep enough to demand careful line choice, and the slight overgrowth along the edges is more of a light brush than a real obstacle. Nothing on this stretch challenges ground clearance or traction in any meaningful way. The rating stays this low because the spur is short, straightforward, and free of any water crossings, rock, or elevation challenges, making it an easy add-on for anyone already exploring the surrounding road network.
