Trail Overview
This very narrow, fine-dirt trail has posted signage requiring 4WD. The route begins with a hillside climb featuring 6–8 inch ruts, an extended rock garden, 5–6 inch rocks, and ledges reaching 8 inches tall. Fallen and cut trees create tight sections that require careful maneuvering, while overgrown vegetation makes pinstriping unavoidable. Several sections also have approximately 8 feet of overhead clearance from trees leaning over the trail. Around 0.6 miles, a level, shaded campsite accommodates up to four vehicles. Another large campsite around 2.1 miles accommodates four vehicles with level ground, multiple fire rings, and mountain views. The route is scenic throughout, but around 2.5 miles, dozens of large downed trees completely block further travel.
Difficulty
This trail is rated Level 3 because of the hillside climbs, rock gardens, 8-inch ledges, narrow terrain, off-camber sections, and numerous fallen trees. 4WD is required by posted signage, and careful maneuvering is necessary through the tighter obstacles.
