Trail Overview
This one vehicle-wide trail starts at San Felipe Wash and ends at Gas Dome Trail, running through flat terrain with a sandy surface throughout. The route features lots of whoops and washboards that create a bouncy, bumpy ride. The trail is lined with creosote bushes on both sides and offers views of the surrounding mountain ranges as you navigate the open landscape. The route crosses Bank Wash along the way, adding variety to the terrain. This trail is within the Ocotillo Wells OHV area, where registered OHV and highway legal vehicles are allowed.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail with the main features being the sandy surface and lots of whoops and washboards. The whoops and washboards create a very bumpy ride that will test your suspension, but they aren't technically difficult. The one vehicle width means less room to maneuver, but the flat terrain makes navigation straightforward. Airing down is recommended for the sandy conditions.
