Circle Canyon Trail is a brief, highly welcoming 1.0-mile backcountry access road starting right off the paved Gold Hill Road. This beautifully clear, wide two-track features an exceptionally smooth, well-graded dirt surface that playfully cuts across vast, open desert flats populated by scattered native shrubs. As you cruise along the straight path under an immense, unobstructed sky, the tranquil route directly deposits travelers into the highly popular Circle Canyon Campground. Perfect for group outings, this destination features approximately five social-friendly campsites clustered in a spacious semi-circle and equipped with vault toilets, shade structures, and fire rings. It serves as a remarkably mellow entry corridor to the canyon area that is best experienced during the mild spring or fall seasons.

Circle Canyon Trail firmly earns an introductory Level 1 technical rating, proving to be one of the most accessible and straightforward routes in the entire local network. The flat, well-maintained driving surface is entirely devoid of deep ruts, jagged rock gardens, or intimidating off-camber sections. Traffic remains light along this two-way road, meaning beginners can build confidence without stress. High-clearance vehicles or four-wheel-drive systems are completely unnecessary; almost any standard passenger car can comfortably make the drive down to the campground area under dry conditions.
