Trail Overview

This route takes you through mostly wide gravel roads. There is a lot of moon dust/thick powder near the town of Westwood. You will be traveling through one of the largest burn scars in California, which was left by the Dixie Fire in 2021. A lot of the timber is still standing.

Most of the trail is a 1 on the technical rating. The reason for the 3 is the thick moon dust by Westwood, which can be challenging on two wheels.

History

Lots of logging history around this area. Westwood, in its heyday, had heated sidewalks when the mill was in full swing.
