Trail Overview
This is another main east-to-west trail in the Superstition Mountain OHV Open Riding Area. The surface is a mix of soft sand and hard-pack sand, creating varying traction conditions. The trail follows a power line for easy reference and navigation. The route features a lot of washboards and some whoops, creating a bouncy ride throughout. The trail is mostly flat and open except for a few sections that have some desert brush. You'll enjoy views of Superstition Mountain, Fish Lake Mountain, and the Coyote Mountains, providing panoramic mountain scenery. Part of the west end of the trail is a limited-use area where you're supposed to stay on the trails with no camping allowed, so watch for signs.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail with the mix of soft sand and hard pack sand being the main surface consideration. The lot of washboards and some whoops create a bouncy ride, but aren't technically difficult. Airing down is recommended for the soft sand sections. The flat, open terrain makes navigation straightforward. Respect the limited-use area restrictions on the west end and stay on designated trails in that section.
