The trail climbs in and out of hills, providing dynamic terrain and great views of the Superstition Mountain range as you gain and lose elevation. You'll encounter some washboards scattered along the way, creating a bumpy ride. You'll enjoy great views of Superstition Mountain and Fish Creek Mountain throughout, with the changing elevation providing different perspectives of these impressive peaks.
Difficulty
The hard-pack sand and loose sand mix requires constant adjustment in driving approach and momentum management. The climbing in and out of hills demands skilled throttle control and adds elevation changes that increase difficulty. The washboards create a jarring ride. Four wheel drive is recommended for the loose sand sections and hill climbs. High clearance is beneficial for navigating the varied terrain. The mix of surface conditions keeps you adapting throughout.
