Trail Overview
This fine-dirt trail descends the hillside through dense forest while following Rattlesnake Creek, which remains alongside the route throughout the drive. Ruts range from 2–6 inches deep, with numerous fallen and cut trees requiring careful maneuvering. Overgrown vegetation is common, but the trail is generally wide enough to avoid most pinstriping. The fine-dirt surface can become more difficult when wet. The creek and dense forest create a scenic drive with plenty of shade from the surrounding trees. Around 1.3 miles, a level campsite accommodates up to four vehicles and includes a fire ring. Another campsite around 1.7 miles accommodates up to six vehicles with level ground, a fire ring, and plenty of shade.
Difficulty
This trail is rated Level 2 because of the 2–6 inch ruts and sections requiring careful maneuvering around fallen and cut trees. There are no significant technical obstacles, making it a relatively easy and scenic forest route under dry conditions.
