Trail Overview

This recently maintained, fine-dirt trail climbs the hillside and is generally wide enough for vehicles to pass. Ruts remain around 2–4 inches deep, although several washouts create 12–14 inch whoops. Fallen and cut trees create occasional narrow sections where careful maneuvering is required. The fine-dirt surface can become more difficult when wet. The route travels through a scenic, densely forested hillside with excellent views of the surrounding trees and vegetation. Around 0.6 miles, a level cliffside campsite accommodates up to four vehicles and overlooks the National Forest and surrounding mountain ranges.

Difficulty

This trail is rated Level 2 because of the 12–14 inch whoops, occasional washouts, and tight sections around fallen and cut trees. Recent maintenance has left the remainder of the route relatively easy, with only minor 2–4 inch ruts.
