Trail Overview

This route provides a seamless and accessible transit from Highway 15 to the Three Sisters area. Following extensive forest remediation efforts related to past wildfire activity, the trail has undergone significant grading, resulting in a smooth, well-maintained surface that stands in contrast to the more rugged forest roads in the region. The route winds through a scenic blend of high-desert sagebrush and thick pine forests, punctuated by several tranquil meadows that offer a reprieve from the canopy. While a small section on the eastern end still bears the marks of the 2021 Antelope Fire, the majority of the journey highlights a healthy, recovering forest landscape.

Difficulty

With a rating of 1, this trail is exceptionally easy to navigate and is suitable for almost any vehicle with standard clearance. The surface is composed of hard-packed dirt that is free of major obstacles, ruts, or technical features. The western end of the trail has been permanently rerouted, and travelers should follow the updated signage carefully to ensure they remain on the current, graded path. Because the trail is so smooth and well-maintained, drivers need to remain mindful of their speed, as the lack of obstacles can make it easy to inadvertently travel faster than conditions warrant.
