Trail Overview

This 2-mile point-to-point trail serves as a scenic connector between Highway 15 and the Three Sisters Trail within the Klamath National Forest. The first half of the route passes through the significant scar of the 2021 Antelope Forest Fire; while extensive logging and cleanup efforts have removed much of the fire-damaged timber, the landscape remains a testament to the blaze that devastated the region. The trail winds through mature pine stands that have been thinned to reduce fire risk, interspersed with open meadows and patches of sagebrush. The route concludes with a short, noticeable climb as you approach the Three Sisters intersection.

Difficulty

Rated as a 2, the trail is roughly 1.5 vehicles wide and features a surface of loose pumice and dirt. While the primary path is well-cleared following post-fire remediation, the loose surface and the nature of the terrain require a high-clearance vehicle for optimal safety. The trail is generally smooth, but drivers should remain alert for shifting ground or residual debris in the fire-affected segments.
