Trail Overview
The west end of this 0.7-mile-long trail starts at an intersection with 16EV258 and winds through the scrub oak and tall oak trees. It’s pretty tight in sections between the trees, but the trail stays relatively easy, without much rock. There are lots of cut logs and stumps hiding within the bushes that you don’t want to hit by accident. There are a couple of signs throughout to help guide the way. It descends through the forest, crossing a little ravine, and climbing up another hillside. Expect small roots, a couple of steeper spots, and some tight turns. At the intersection with 16EV253, it drops down a hillside that has several logs down at elevated heights above the trail, making it hard to pass. It reconnects with 16EV407 on the east end of the loop.
Difficulty
This is an intermediate trail due to tight maneuvering between the vegetation, with quite a bit of loose rock in the beginning from the west entrance. There aren’t any major obstacles, just the loose rock during several steep sections.
