Trail Overview

Trail Ss1004 is an 11-mile route that begins at the train tracks off Ss1016 and runs to a dead end at private property. A very small section crosses State Trust Land on the northwest side. The trail starts tight and slightly overgrown, then quickly opens into a wider gravel road. Early on, you’ll encounter a small washout obstacle with a bypass — nothing technical, but the soft drop-off requires high clearance. The route makes a right turn through the water tank corral known as Mandy’s Well. From here, it continues as an easy gravel road. Watch your speed; unexpected washouts appear quickly. Great views of Mount Graham and the surrounding mountain ranges. Heavy livestock presence, so watch for cow traffic. You will come across multiple gates.
