Sleeping Coyote Run

Sleeping Coyote Run is named for the shape of its route through the hills of the Prescott National Forest. This route is nestled amongst the Ponderosa and mixed Pine forest, with give haven to deer and elk, as well as numerous other wildlife species. A single lane wide, this trail is rudimentary, and at times (on its inner loops) rough and primitive. The main trail has numerous features, such as rock gardens, ledges, and, during monsoon season, water crossings. While not technical, this trail may challenge your patience with its rough nature, especially at the end of the day. There are no campsites along this trail, so it's purely scenic, but as you nestled in the trees, the vistas are lacking. It's a typical drive through the forest, with all the accompanying challenges on this trail.
