Trail Overview
Saguaro Way is an easy, scenic 2.5-mile desert trail north of Phoenix, ideal for beginners, stock 4x4s, and OHVs. The route winds through saguaro-studded hills, offering classic Sonoran Desert views with minimal technical difficulty. The trail surface is primarily simple dirt, featuring a few short, mildly rocky sections.
With elevations ranging from 1,910 to 2,120 feet, the trail has gentle grades and a net elevation loss of approximately 200 feet traveling south to north. The northern terminus ends near a popular dispersed shooting area. This route also serves as a convenient connector to a larger network of dirt trails in the surrounding recreation area.
Difficulty
This section of trail weaves and winds its way through the beautiful desert and leads to a shooting area at the North end, as well as connects to a handful of other trails. There are a couple of short rocky sections to navigate, but aside from that the trail is a pretty simple dirt trail.
Access Description
Saguaro Way is located on public BLM land north of Phoenix. No permits or fees are required to access the trail. Visitors should exercise caution near the northern terminus, which terminates at a popular dispersed recreational shooting area.
