Trail Overview

Sa1065 starts at Sa1059 and runs north-south as a natural gravel trail. It offers scenic views of Mount Graham to the south, Weber Peak to the north, and a nearby mine. The trail is very natural, so pay close attention to the tracks, you can get off course quickly. The north half becomes heavily overgrown, and shrubs and pinstripe vegetation can scratch the sides and undercarriage of your vehicle. 2WD is possible, but high clearance is recommended. Expect a few ruts and many shrubs on the northern section. Wash Crossing: There is one wash crossing; navigate carefully to avoid going off course. The trail leads to a fence line. Do not go through it. Turn left and follow along the inside to the open fence pickets. Crossing the fence can cause barbed wire damage and tire issues. Follow approximately 0.10 miles along the inside of the fence line to reach the exit. Overgrowth, ruts, and fence lines make it easy to get off course--stay alert.
