Ryal Canyon #521

Ryal Canyon is a 50-inch trail near Camp Verde, Arizona, that is an intermediate challenge with several steep and rocky climbs but is not as difficult as the nearby Tomkins or Box T trails. It starts at the Ryal Canyon Trailhead, which is a large dirt parking lot with shaded picnic tables, grills, and plenty of space for trailers. t starts by flowing through the low desert hills, then starts climbing up to the intersection with Box T. It gets rockier and steeper as it gets farther west. The trail gains 1,600 feet over 2.5 miles as it heads west, so it's pretty steep. It has some steep hill climbs on the side of a mountain that are full of loose rocks that would be hard for an inexperienced dirt biker not yet comfortable with standing through rocky steep terrain. It also would be a good challenge for any 50-inch vehicle. It has no major obstacles, it's just very rocky. It goes along a fenceline for part of it and has a couple of gate crossings. One ridgeline section has some exposure with a steep washout on either side. It goes through a unique variety of terrains, with some volcanic rock and white chalky dirt as well.
