Difficulty

High clearance is essential for this trail, which features substantial off-camber obstacles exceeding 3 feet in height. While lockers are highly recommended for added capability, they are not strictly necessary with careful driving. Expect small rock gardens scattered along the route, steep uphill climbs, and consistently rugged terrain that will challenge both driver and vehicle.

The first half was fine. Lots of rock gardens and very tight trails. Once you start to decend there were lots of waterfalls and washouts. Need a spotter and pick good lines. Great slow trail, took about 3 hours, but I stopped a lot to enjoy the views.

Made the mistake of running this alone in the evening haha . Would definitely recommend bringing another vehicle for safety. Also make sure you’re strong enough to stack rocks if your build is mild . 99jeep wj 33s 3 inch lift . I had to stack rocks a few times . Took me roughly 2.5 hrs with stopping for pics etc . It’s a beautiful trail but it’s also very long and many chances for breakage so be prepared !

Ran this in my bone stock General XP4. 💯 would NOT recommend going alone. We made it through without breaking anything, but it was pretty sketchy. It took a little over 3 hours to get to Pine from Payson. We did NOT go back on the same trail.

I ran this north to south. Ground clearance is a bonus. A lot of shelf drops were beyond by 3” lift and 33s. I used my sliders a lot. Loose shelf rock with some crazy drops and cambers. Easily can destroy a vehicle in this trail. Rather long of a trail and slow going. Unfortunately there was no water at any of the crossings. If I had to run this beginning on the south I would not have made it all of the way. The elevation gain combined with some of the obstacles would required a winch or a tug from a larger vehicle. Still a good time. Solo with my toddler. Zero vehicle issues.

This was an awesome trail with great views. I traveled north to south. Definitely wish I had lockers. I definitely recommend high clearance larger tire.
