Trail Overview

PE1081 starts off the black hills back county byway. It is a rocky 2-track that follows the base of the hill around to the west and has rock-lined berm sides. It is a point-to-point trail. Surrounded by desert landscape, creosote barrel cactus, and mountains in all directions. Large, rounded, loose Lava rock 6- 12” makes this trail extra bumpy; 4WD and high clearance recommended. Camp rings in the area. The halfway mark makes this trail interesting and is where 4WD and high clearance will be a necessity. The water has eroded this wash crossing. There is a wildlife tank on this trail. After the tank, you climb up out of the wash, and the rocks become smaller. Livestock is in the area. Nothing too technical; no major obstacles. Future rain will change this trail. The trail connects in the back to multiple trails.
