Trail Overview
This is a fun trail out to a small mine on BLM land. It picks up off Katherine Mine Trail, an extensive open graded trail. Watch for ruts and small cross washes on either end of the trail. This trail heads towards some exciting rock formations around the middle of this trail. These rock formations do not have a driveable road and need to be explored on foot. The trail crosses the backside of this rock formation, where there are old mines and dispersed campsites. At the mine, there is a steep hill climb and some little hills that are a playground for more built, 4x4 vehicles. These little trails don't go anywhere and are not part of the main trail. Continuing from the mine, the trail goes back into the desert and crosses more washes that might be difficult for a longer-wheelbase vehicle to navigate. The trail eventually drops onto a paved road that heads to a neighborhood. This area is BLM land; it borders the Lake Mead Recreation Area. Within the Lake Mead Recreation Area, Federal regulations prohibit motor vehicles except on park roads and parking areas. Vehicles are permitted only on approved roads and only when they are properly licensed for street use. SXS, ATVs, and motorcycles plated for street use could access these trails. Be sure to stay within the BLM area if exploring off-road.

Difficulty
The majority of this trail is driving across sandy washes in the desert. There are a couple of deeper washouts where water has eroded the trail, making tire placement important to cross without digging a rear bumper into the ground. It might be harder for larger and longer-wheelbase vehicles to navigate.
