Trail Overview

This scenic trail links into the Lower Hackberry Trail, allowing for a nice but challenging loop accessible from Highway 60. Alternatively, you can take a different leg back if you've already ventured on the Lower Hackberry Trail, eliminating the trail from being an in-and-out route only. The area has many rocks, ledges, climbs, and straightforward trail sections. However, if it rains or water flows in the creek, the trail will have a good flow, making it tricky.3.5 hours does not include the time to get to the trail.

Difficulty

This trial has a lot of rock obstacles that require high clearance. Due to the off-camber and the mobility of rocks, it can be very tricky. When the creek is flowing or mud exists, it raises difficulty.

History

Most of these trails are formed from old mining routes and utility paths.

Trail is open, there is a message painted on a rock claiming the trail is closed, we ignored the sign and completed the entire loop. Lots of rock gardens but not difficult for a sxs. 2 4 seat Canam X3 on 35's. Hut bottom a few times but fairly easily completed the loop.
