Trail Overview
Gato Tank Norte is a pleasant and easy connector trail, similar to many other routes in the area, offering a smooth ride with some fun features. As you traverse this trail, you'll notice sections with deeper ruts that demand a bit of articulation and suspension flex, adding a touch of excitement to the journey. The trail also includes longer, smooth cruising sections, allowing a relaxing drive through the stunning desert landscape. Along the way, you'll be accompanied by desert shrubs that, while charming, may take a toll on your vehicle's clearcoat if you're not careful! Keep your eyes peeled for the diverse wildlife that calls this area home--there's a chance you might even catch a glimpse of a desert fox darting across your path. While Gato Tank Norte provides a pleasant off-roading experience, no dispersed camping spots were identified along this trail, so plan to look elsewhere if you're considering an overnight stay. Additionally, you can expect the cellular service to be limited, with only about one bar of Verizon LTE available, so be sure to download your offline maps before you come. Important Note: Obtain your Arizona State Land Trust permit to access the area before setting off on your adventure. As always, prepare for the desert environment by bringing plenty of water and supplies, as conditions can change quickly.
