Trail Overview
Chasing Cholla is a curvy trail offering an inviting adventure, especially for beginners looking to enhance their off-roading skills. With a couple of easy rock obstacles along the way, this trail provides just enough excitement without becoming overly complicated. As you navigate the path, you'll encounter a few washouts that add an element of fun while requiring attention. Be cautious in sections lined with tight cholla cacti--these pesky plants can easily mar your vehicle's paint or snag on arms hanging out of a side-by-side (SXS), so it's advisable to maintain a careful distance. The trail twists its way through the rolling hills, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and creating a beautiful backdrop for your drive. Toward the southern end, the trail descends into a short wash section, providing a diverse experience as you traverse the landscape. Important Note: Chasing Cholla is moderately traveled, and while it features no designated spots for dispersed camping, its charming scenery makes it a great trail for a day's outing.
