Trail Overview
FS 246T is a narrow natural gravel trail that winds through a mix of grassy forest and pine trees, with a few rutted sections and tight spots where logs have been cleared for single-vehicle passage. You may encounter occasional fallen trees that require light maneuvering or clearing. The trail follows a scenic ridgeline for most of the route, offering a peaceful and remote feel, with dispersed campsites scattered throughout. Near the end, the trail descends slightly into a burned area where new growth is starting to come back in. If you stop or camp here, pay close attention to your surroundings—several fire-damaged trees appear unstable and could fall at any time. Overall, it’s an easy but engaging trail with a great mix of forest, views, and recovering landscape.
