Trail Overview
FS 212B starts at FS 212A and is a smooth, natural gravel two-track through the forest, with tall pine trees following the ridgeline. A well-established trail that winds through the canopy of tall ponderosa pines. Eventually climbs downhill and snakes through and then back up the other hill. Nothing technical and no obstacles found. The trail eventually comes to an intersection and turns northwest to stay on 212B and will make its way over a couple more hills; unfortunately, this track no longer goes through completely. The trail completely disappears with no way through. This section is an old burn scar and is regrowing; the original trail has been altered and is an interesting trail to investigate. There are open areas to stop and have lunch, but the trail has now become an out-and-back trail. 2WD/4WD high clearance recommended.
Difficulty
This trail has no obstacles or technical challenges, but the route has been altered due to a burn scar. High clearance is recommended for 2WD/4WD vehicles. Numerous S-curves wind around pine trees, with some tight turns requiring careful maneuvering.
