Trail Overview
This tight, pinchy trail starts off narrow with brush crowding the sides, so expect some paint pin striping and be sure to close the gate behind you. Early on, there is a steep drop into a wash followed by a narrow climb up the hill that includes one short shelf section and a few small washouts that keep things interesting without being overly difficult. The route features sustained steep inclines and declines along with a handful of off-camber sections where the downhill side falls away sharply, so careful line choice is important. Once you reach the ridgeline, the trail opens up as you follow the spine of the hill toward the end of the road. It eventually fades out on the ridge with panoramic views of Mount Ord and the surrounding mountains, plus a few slightly overgrown dispersed camp spots tucked along the top.
Difficulty
Narrow sections, steep grades, and a few off-camber spots that require steady throttle control and careful tire placement. While the obstacles are manageable for most high-clearance 4WD vehicles, drivers should be comfortable with exposure and uneven terrain.
