Trail Overview

Starting from the north side, you will climb a ridge and then drop down a rutted descent, into and across a rocky wash, and back up the other side. As you reach the backside, this is where you can start to make out Lake Roosevelt in the distance, as well as Mt. Ord to the south. You will ride this ridge line back out to Route 188. There is one final rutted descent off the ridge line. This is not a well-traveled forest road, so you will encounter some light pinstriping in a few places.

6/10 rating. Better than Hill of Doom. Lots of loose rocks, not gravel. Twists, turns, ups and downs. Air down in the beginning. Lockers and sway bar will be optional. It is a slow ride, bring water. Great views. At the end of the trail, go through the cow’s corral, no way else to get off trail. Drive very slow if cows and calf’s are there.

Gorgeous views all around at the top - from The Mogollon Rim to Roosevelt Lake! Great drive with a few rutted or rocky areas but not at all scary as a passenger. Definitely worth our time and we would do it again in Spring.
