Trail Overview

Flat Tire Canyon is a scenic, little-used Jeep trail in a fairly remote area. It only takes a couple of hours to do the trail, but it takes a long time to get there and home again. Think about entering from Superior and exiting either the Mineral Mountain Road or Cottonwood Canyon. Take the second right-hand turn after leaving Telegraph Canyon, and there is a good spot to take a break at an open mine shaft. Great views along the entire trail.

The trail is a loop but we could not go all the way around from either direction. Totally washed out at one point and no way around.

Did loop counter clockwise, in SxS on 35". On the south west side there's a nasty down hill w/ wash out. Jeeps were winch'n uphill. Lots of narrow off cambers, almost rolled a XP1000 in our group. Not a trail for the inexperienced.

Deep washout. We turned around. This was about when we were 3/4 of the way around the loop.
