Trail Overview
This loop trail is located within the Ehrenberg Sandbowl OHV Area, down in the sandy dunes section. The surface is deep sand with some rocks scattered throughout, cutting around desert brush as it winds through the terrain. The trail is one vehicle wide with ruts and off-camber sections that demand attention as you navigate the sandy dunes. There's one drop-off into a wash that's less than 12 inches, adding a small technical element to the route. The dunes setting provides a different experience from the rockier trails in the area, with flowing sand creating an immersive desert environment.
Difficulty
This is an easy to moderate trail with the main challenge being the deep sand that requires Four Wheel Drive and good momentum management. Airing down is highly recommended for better traction in the sandy dunes. The ruts and off-camber sections add some difficulty but are manageable. The drop-off into the wash at less than 12 inches is a minor obstacle that most vehicles can handle with a proper approach.
